M A A S: “’Caves of No Return’ is my first full album release. Let the dripping drones, earthy ambient, crumbling rocks, claustrophobic, epic, ethereal and out-of-body type soundscapes take you on an ever-descending, ever-tightening journey into the depths of the earth, and ultimately, up and out of this world in this ninety minute sonic experience. I’ve always been fascinated by what lies buried under our feet, and this album serves as a sonic exploration thereof. Although I created the album with a threefold meaning to it, having one obvious and two hidden personal interpretations, I simultaneously tried to keep the album and song titles ambiguous enough so that the listener may interpret the album in his or her own way, because what it may mean to me, may not be what it means to the listener and I don’t want to get in the way of the listener’s own experience by superimposing my ideas of it.”
